Father's and Sons

“And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; the God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour;.."
-2 Sam 22:2-3

Weekend Trip to Southern AZ

Being the 1 year mark of losing Jeff, Bruce and I decided to get away, knowing how hard a weekend it would be. When Bruce was Young Men Pres and Jeff was a Priest, the YM took a trip to Southern AZ, Jeff and Bruce really enjoyed the trip, so we decided to visit some of the same sights. This is a picture of the Historic copper mining town of Bisbee, at one time it was the biggest town between St. Louis and San Fran. We also took a tour of the Kartchner Caverns, a must see if any of you visit us in Az, we couldn't take any pictures but it was incredible.
We took a tour of an old copper mine, very interesting.

The Highlight of our trip was hiking the Chiricahua Mt. We hiked about 8 miles. It was amazing! A perfect day, with very few hikers, we did run into 2 men from Germany, another guy from Houston and a couple from Calif. that was it, we really enjoyed the solitude.
Kissing rocks.

Yes, it snows in Arizona.

Wish me luck, family!! This is the dog I just applied for to adopt! Hopefully he can be the newest member to the family. I need some company at home and I'm finally falling into a more routine schedule, so hopefully they will bring him to my home for a visit and decide I'm worthy to be his owner!!

Watch out Boston

Bruce did it he qualified to run in the Boston Marathon!!! I would like to share a story about Bruce's run.....When I was pregnant with Jeff, I was anxiously waiting to feel that first "kick". Bruce and I went to see the movie Rocky (it was 1977) during the movie I felt Jeff kick for the first time. I was so excited , I remember Bruce whispering for me to be quiet. I didn't care I had felt my baby move for the first time, Moms understand the thrill and comfort that is. So the theme from Rocky has always had special meaning to us reminding us of Jeff. During the St. George Marathon Bruce was running the last few miles of the race, which are very difficult. He turned a corner and there was a High School Band playing Rocky, he felt Jeff with him pushing him on. It was quite inspirational.
Thanks Jeff for keeping watch over us. We are looking forward to that Grand Reunion in Heaven.

Nauvoo Pageant

Check out the picture on the front of Mormon Times July 25, 2009. This is the paper that comes with your church news. You will see a scence from the Nauvoo pagaent in which Terry and 2 of his children appear. Terry is just behind Brigham Young in the hat. (He grew a beard for the occasion). Anthony is on the very right of the picture close to the lady with the white bonnet. Tanner is down below on the right side with the vest. Karlie is below the elbow of Joseph Smith. We were able to see them in the pageant in July and it was awesome!!
And if that was not thrilling enough, on Sat. July 18 we joined them in the Nauvoo temple where Ryker was sealed to them. It was a very touching and sacred family event for all in attendance. The whole Nauvoo Pagaent experience (2 weeks filming on location) was so fantastic for the Terry Snapp family. I hope they will share more with you.

McBrides New Residence

The Glen McBrides have entered a new residence. They are living at the Barton Creek Assisted Living center in Bountiful. They have a one bedroom apartment on the main floor. The lovely dining room is just through the lobby and they like the food. Grandma Jeannette was sick last week and Grandpa went on his own for his meals. He says his pants are getting a little tighter! He says "It isn't home, but it is a nice place." Both Elva and Kenneth live not too far away and also Hayley and JD are living very close. Grandma Jeanette said she has been around to all the tables at meal times and met everyone. They have watched the Jazz play on the big screen in the movie room and taken advantage of other entertainment. They have Sacrament meeting on Sundays and Priesthood and Relief Society during the week. They are having the newspaper from home delivered to them. Give them a call or send a card! They would love to hear from you.

A new addition to the family!

Terry and Kristi have just publicly announced their new addition. His name is Ryker David Snapp and he was born January 9. He has been in the hospital in Detroit for the last week with RSV. Kristi has been with him 24/7. He was released yesterday. Grandma and Grandmpa Snapp have been caring for Reagan and Karlie in Chicago for the past 6 days and today we will return them to their mom and new brother in Michigan. Kristi will remain there until the adoption papers are signed. Ryker is a full brother to Karlie. Terry is holding down the fort in Preston with the four boys. They are anxious for their reunion. It's amazing how The Lord knows where there are loving families for his special children. What a great mom and dad and loving brothers and sisters you have Ryker.

From Curtis, it means a lot!!

I have been saving my sticker for the best spot and today I put it on my bike. I did not get to know Jeff that long but I can tell you this. We had alot in common the 3 most were Harley's,Hot rods (new or old) and Johnny Cash.. We talked a few times about making the Social Distortion or Mike Ness concerts together but our schedules were never the same. We spoke a few times about looking for a Harley for him once everything was clear for him and he never got the chance. So now I will keep his thoughts with me on our favorite topics as I ride my Harley and Shaking things up!..

Trick or Treat

Last Night we had a fun Halloween Party. It was the first time I have had all my Grandkids together on Halloween (sort of- at least it was Oct. and they were all in their costumes.) Since J is going to be in the hospital on Halloween, we took the kids trick-or-treating to the neighbors on my street. My neighbors were all very generous most of them substituted the candy I gave them to pass out for much better stuff. The kids had so much fun. They were all so stinkin cute!! I have adorable Skeleton, Strawberry, Incredible-Superhero, Tinkerbell, Dragon, Turtle, Tiger, Bunny- Grandchildren. Afterward Jeff gave Carter, Kennedy, and Emily wonderful blessings. Then Bruce gave Jeff a really nice blessing. (it was a tear jerker)
Bruce and I visited Jeff at the hospital (City of Hope at Banner Samaritan in downtown Phx) His spirits were good. They hadn't started the chemo drugs yet. Thanks to everyone for their love and prayers.
